Practice - Long game

These practice plans are general plans to help maximize the effectiveness of practice in between lessons, rounds and tournaments.  Remember to incorporate the specific skills you and your coach are working on. Practice time is an opportunity to engrain skills and build confidence in your technique.  Go get em!

Plans are broken into indoor training and outdoor training, as well as comprehensive (all shots) and skill specific (short game, driver, etc).  

Consult with your coach on which practice plan you need to incorporate each session/week.


 
 

1 hour Indoor Skill Specific Practice Session

Overview- Full Swing Irons 30 Minutes

Full Swing - 10 Minutes (items needed: SkyTrak Bay, 9 iron, 6 iron)

1. Practice Setup

a). Posture with feet shoulder width apart, arms hanging below shoulders, club in the middle of the stance, clubface square to target line.

2. Practice Swings (1 Min)

a). Practice forward brush

b). Tip: watch where your club brushes the mat. It should be forward of where you start at address.

3. Full Swings with 9 iron (7 Min)

a). Driving Range Mode: 15 shots

4. Target Challenge (7 Min)

a). Set up a “Target Challenge” from average yardage with 9 iron with 6 shots on “Easy Mode”

b). Get 3 out of 6 in the 50 or 100 point circle to pass.




Mid- Iron Practice

4. Full Swings with 6 iron (7 Min)

a). Driving Range Mode: 15 shots

5. Target Challenge (7 Min)

a). Set up a “Target Challenge” from average yardage with 6 iron with 6 shots on “Easy Mode”

b). Get 3 out of 6 in the 50 or 100 point circle to pass.



Driver Practice: SKYTRAKS

Set up a Longest Drive Challenge with 6 shots. Make 4 out of the 6 shots in bounds from 50 yards.

Set up a Longest Drive Challenge with 6 shots. Make 4 out of the 6 shots in bounds from 100 yards.

Set up a Longest Drive Challenge with 6 shots. Make 4 out of the 6 shots in bounds from 150 yards.
